Frequently asked questions

Has the MDCAT syllabus changed for 2026?
No. PMDC confirmed the MDCAT 2026 syllabus is the same one used for MDCAT 2025. Any 2025 material, and every past paper from that syllabus, remains fully valid preparation.
How many questions are in each subject?
Biology 81, Chemistry 45, Physics 36, English 9 and Logical Reasoning 9 - 180 in total, over 3 hours.
Is there negative marking in MDCAT 2026?
No. PMDC has confirmed there is no negative marking, so leaving a question blank is never better than guessing.
Who conducts MDCAT 2026?
PMDC prepares one national paper administered by provincial universities: UHS in Punjab, Sukkur IBA in Sindh, KMU in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, BUMHS in Balochistan, and SZABMU for Islamabad, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan.
What is the passing score?
55% (99 of 180) for MBBS and 50% (90 of 180) for BDS. Passing does not guarantee admission, which is decided on merit aggregate.
